Clean water is essential for life, and it is not readily accessible in many parts of the world. We are overwhelmed with the painful daily struggle of people trying to obtain drinking water. Mamas and young girls walk miles for a bucket of water that people wash their dirty clothes in, bathe in, and livestock eliminates in as they walk through. Families and communities become ill on such water as it is taken home and used for drinking and cooking.
All ages, including the very young suffer from the diseases brought on by drinking contaminated water such as; cholera, typhoid, dysentery, polio, meningitis, hepatitis A, and E, dengue fever, TB, E-coli poisoning, amoebas, parasites, and the list goes on. Seeing the pain that filthy drinking water brings would break your heart.
Dirty water breeds flies and mosquitoes that spread malaria and yellow fever. Disease brings suffering and death to all ages, and the quality of life declines because of the lack of clean, safe water.
By providing a well with an abundance of clean water, we can impact a whole village. It is a gift that continues to give. It restores, replenishes and revives; it gives life and prevents diseases.
